On-Site Sewage Systems Part 8- 2012-  Note: This is a reservation list only. Class dates will be determined by student preference once there is sufficient demand. 

This  (35 hr) overview course largely deals with the requirements related to the onsite sewage systems regulated under the Building Code (systems with design capacity less than 10,000 Litres per day). The Code requirements related to these systems are found in Part 8 of the Code. The course addresses the following areas;
• The Building Code, Permits, responsibilities and the concept of septic systems
• Site conditions, Test Pits and T-Times
• Characteristics of Systems and Design Flows
• Class 1, 2 and 3 Sewage Systems
• Class 4 Sewage Systems
• Class 5 Sewage Systems
• Construction of On-Site Sewage Systems
• Occupational Health and Safety, and
• Evaluation of Malfunctioning Systems, Remedial Work and Change-Of-Use Procedures.

 Who Should Attend?

Persons who require qualifications under Row 10, ON-Site Sewage Systems of Table This also an excellent course for home inspectors performing rural home inspections regardless of whether or not you are pursuing certification.

Prerequisits: None  

Reference Materials:  Students must brinng to class both volumns of the Ontario Building Code 2012 Compendium and a calculator. The Building Code Compendium is not supplied but may be ordered on-line through Service Ontario if you do not already own a copy. 

Date:   Course to be scheduled once minimum class size has been reached.   

Start time: 8:00 am and end time ~5:00 pm

Location: New OAHI training centre, 3901 Hwy 7, Suite 100, Woodbridge, ON L4L 8L5

What is provided:  Course work book, Certificate of Attendance. Note: There is no final exam for this course. To obtain your BCIN qualification you must write the MMAH BCIN exam which is now only available through Humber College. The BCIN exam is available on-line and costs $150 plus HST. 

Fee to place name on list is $1.00 Balance is due  on final confirmation of attendance. 

Non-Member fee-$495.00 plus HST

Member fee-$450.00 plus HST

Meals and Lodging: 

There are no meals provided as part of this course.  There are several restaurants nearby.

The OAHI  has negotiated a discounted rate at the Comfort Inn at the corner of Dixie and Matheson.  Mention that you are attending OAHI training when booking.
